'Healthovation' – Motivation in Health
It would be fair to say that not all jobs are the ones that have a good
pay or have some fancy facilities to work in. Some jobs need a little more than
just that and once such job is that of a community health worker. So what is
that keeps health workers motivated? One would assume that money is the only
factor that keeps you motivated, but I believe there is more to it. While
monetary gains are essential for survival other forms of motivation are also
necessary to drive someone to work, let alone work harder. Worker motivation is
a process that involves a mix of economics, psychology, organizational
development, human resource management, and sociology. We have narrowed down to
three main factors that could keep one motivated to initiate and sustain at
work. First one being able to create a sense of purpose among the people,
making them understand that the value of their work is high would strive them
to make it through hardships in order to achieve their goal.
Secondly, enhancement of a worker’s belief that they can succeed at a task. This can be done by reminding them of their past achievements or show how people like them have been successful at the task in the past.
Lastly, trust between the employer and the employee. An organised and approachable leader, who treats his peers as equal is essential in order to let the team believe in the cause and work towards it.

There
is a lot more to 'healthovation' than just this and over the years a lot more will be added to this list.
