Open doors to prevention
We live behind closed doors. Why ? It's maybe because we want to protect ourselves from the possibilities of danger. We often close doors to the possibilities that something will go wrong with us because we are afraid of the consequences, but, what if we were given a chance to prevent it ?
Barefoot nurse project is one such chance to prevent non- communicable diseases and its consequences. Its a door-to-door screening service provided by the women of the local community who are trained in testing parameters such as blood sugar, blood pressure, hemoglobin etc. There is no harm in being aware of the reality, all that matters is how we decide to deal with.
Next time you have a knock on door, make sure you answer it..... it could be a chance for you and your family to live a long and healthy life.
